About Me
Isaac Simons is a Wilderness First Responder with over 20 years of writing experience who is passionate about introducing as many people as possible to the challenges and rewards of backcountry exploration. A native of Southern California, he is equally at home writing about day-hikes to local peaks as he is chronicling the thrilling misadventures of week-long expeditions to the High Sierra. An avid trail-runner, fly-fisher, and archer, Isaac’s heart lies with backpacking and the joyous mantra of miles that only long-distance hiking can offer. His work has appeared in Storgy Magazine, Viewfinder Magazine, Centipede Press, and Backpacking Light, among others. He will be returning to thru-hike the John Muir Trail this summer.
